Dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under, it will lift you up. This is the trick. This is what all these teachers and philosophers who really counted, who really touched the alchemical gold, this is what they understood. This is the shamanic dance in the waterfall. This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it’s a feather bed” (Terence McKenna).

Mit dem schamanistischen Ritual "SOMAgic-Mystiks of the Pineallands" experimentieren Beatrice Steimer, Angelo Luz und Cleverson de Oliviera mit verschiedenen Medien, Philosophie und Sprache. Das Ritual führt Luz, Oliviera und Steimer jeweils näher an ontologische Fragen in der Arbeit über den Körper und seine Verbindung zur Natur. Sie verwenden Symbole, die eine Brücke zwischen Mythos und modernem Alltag schlagen um imaginäre mythologische Darstellungen zu schaffen. Aktionen, die in natürlichen Umgebungen wie Stränden, Wäldern und Bergen stattfinden, werden wie wieder belebte Ikonographien verwendet. Die Künstler flirten mit Zuständen wie Bewusstlosigkeit und dem eigenen Instinkt.

Schamanismus kann heute als eine andere Form von Raum und Zeit verstanden werden. Es kann eine Reise in die entgegen gesetzte Richtung der Entwicklung von großen Städten sein und die Rückkehr zu einer idealen Existenz einschlagen, die schon fast von den aktuellen Zivilisationen ausgelöscht wurde. Wie Historiker verstehen die Künstler ihr Handwerk als Bindeglied zwischen Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft. Schamanismus, Alchemie und Kabbala sind hierbei Formen des Zugangs. Die daraus entstehenden Codes können wie Schlüssel Türen öffnen. Den Betrachtern steht es frei ihre eigenen Interpretationen zu leisten. Schamanismus ist ein Ausweg aus dem hier und jetzt, weil Schamanen wie Wächter mit ihren Fackeln die Richtung weisen.

Die Idee zu diesem Ritual entstand aus dem Versuch schamanisitsche Praktiken für eine interessierte Öffentlichkeit sichtbar zu machen. Die Parallele zwischen Kunst und der rituellen Praxis der Heilung kann eine poetische Situation erzeugen.

Die Künstler bitten darum, dass zu den jeweiligen Terminen Dinge mitgebracht werden, die Ihnen persönlich wichtig sind.

In a shamanistic ritual called “SOMAgic – Mystiks of the Pinaellands” the three artists Beatrice Steimer, Angelo Luz and Cleverson de Oliviera experiment with various kinds of media, philosophy and language. It is through the ritual that the artists are brought closer to ontological questions raised in their work with the body and its connection to nature. Their use of symbols creates a bridge between myth and everyday life, enabling the creation of imaginary mythological representations. Actions taking place in natural environments such as beaches, forests and mountains, are revived as reanimated iconographies – the artists flirt with conditions such as a loss of consciousness and instinct. Today Shamanism can be understood as another form of space and time: It can be a journey leading into the opposite direction than which the development of large cities has taken, thus showing a return to an ideal existence. The artists – like historians - understand their craft as a link between past, present and future, to which Shamanism, Alchemy and Kabbalah are the forms of access. The codes emerging from there can open doors like keys. The viewers are left free to provide their own interpretations. Shamanism leads a way out of the here and now because shamans - like sentinels with their torches - lead us the way.

The inspiration for this ritual evolved from attempts to explain to an interested public the shamanist practices by making the rituals visible. A poetic situation can be created by the parallels between art and the ritual practice of healing.

The artists kindly ask the audience to bring those things along that are important to them personally on the dates of the performance.
